Meet Janice
It’s a concept most of us are all familiar with: Balancing work, family, friends and that much-needed daily ‘photography fix’… like capturing the perfect sunset at the end of the day.
For Janice, mother-of-two wonderful boys, finding that sense of balance between home and work has resulted in a joyful and fulfilling life. She began her employment here at Resendiz Brothers in the spring of 2017 as a packing-house assistant where she learned all about the various flowers and foliage we grow up in the hills of Rainbow. Shortly thereafter, Janice transferred to the office where she now works full time. Her warm and friendly personality makes for a very welcoming environment and provides a special touch to our customer service.
“I try to keep my life as modest as possible,” Janice explains. Between waking up at 6:00am to get my sons Mason and Preston off to school, caring for two dogs and a cat, and working fulltime at the farm… it can be difficult to find a moment for myself. But life is perfect, as I love being a mom and spending my days surrounded by fun people and gorgeous flowers. I do a wide variety of tasks in the office like preparing labels and waybills, data input, maintaining records, answering phones and caring for our multitude of farm friends… dogs, chickens, goats and a cat. Everyday I learn something new about running a business, farming and the unique flowers we grow. I’m surrounded by so much beauty which makes it easy and enjoyable to be here every day. I haven’t had the pleasure to interact with all of our customers yet, but I look forwarding to doing so soon!”

BeBe and Farmer Protea Wedding Inspiration
You KNOW how much we love growing proteas! Well, we couldn’t be more excited to share some homegrown protea wedding inspiration with you. Mel and I got to be on several sides of the wedding fence this month when our friends, Mud Baron and BeBe Lerner tied the knot at the Highland Springs Ranch in the Cherry Valley. Farmer (aka Mud) said they wanted proteas in their wedding but when asked to create the bridal bouquets and centerpieces for the reception, we were thrilled. It’s not too often we get the opportunity to attend a wedding (Mel a groomsmen) and enjoy the flowers we grow and also arranged on the farm.
Let’s just say that, for a farmer who loves proteas, I was in heaven and OMG… that arch! I just love the way this wedding combined the elements of soft and strong – protea, berzelia and Australian wildflowers mixed with the dreamiest of fabrics in hues of pink and white, contrasting with silver place settings. For me, it was the perfect representation of the flowers we’re so passionate about growing!
Fun was a huge hallmark of this wedding day. Like groom - Farmer told Mel not to take his ‘wedding attire’ too seriously… only be sure to wear his hat, I got the impression that neither did the bride and groom, and everything about their big day was playful. From a witty Hawaiian dressed minister, to Bebe’s dogs, Bob and Ben, at her side and Mud’s dog, Patsy playing catch on the dance floor, it was an evening full of fun.

Farm Friends
The way we see it, everything is better with farm friends, including work. We’re proud to count quite a few two and four-legged animals among the Resendiz Brothers team - shout-out to JJ and Zorro, our Chief Perros, 25+ free range roosters, hens and chicks and 50+ adorable goats - which got us thinking: Why not share them with our flower friends? Not only did they have fun posing for the photos, but we think they go great with all our flowers. Thanks for all the hard work, guys and gals!
And, we’ll never forget our beloved friends, Lucky & Zorro!
