CWA Holiday Workshop
Aren’t the holidays the best? We sure think so, which is why we decided to host another holiday workshop for California Women for Agriculture – San Diego Chapter (CWA). It was the third year in a row this talented group of farmers visited our farm to learn more about the protea we grow and create something special for their homes, all while raising funds for the organization. The last two years participants created holiday wreaths and this year they designed festive tabletop arrangements. With a mixture of Protea in an array of colors and shapes to Leucadendron and colorful Christmas greens, 18 gorgeous centerpieces were designed, and good times were had by all.

How to: DIY Fall Wreaths
Aren’t fall wreaths the best? We sure think so, which is why we recently hosted the 2nd annual wreath making workshop for California Women for Agriculture – San Diego Chapter (CWA). This event helps CWA raise funds for the organization and lets members create something special for their home. With a mixture of proteas in an array of colors and shapes to leucadendron and colorful fall foliage and fruit, wreaths were made by the dozens and good times were had by all.

CWA Wreath Making Workshop
Our kind of welcome to the Holiday Season, as the California Women for Agriculture – San Diego Chapter (CWA) brought good cheer to the farm on a recent Saturday. Clear skies and perfectly crisp temperatures greeted guests as they enjoyed a wreath making workshop, along with a tour of the nursery, a peak in the packing house and some tasty Mexican snacks. Our favorite flower farmer demonstrated the art of wreath making, while participants merrily contemplated what flowers and foliage they would select for their special wreath.
Once everyone gathered their favorite ingredients they created twelve small bouquets that were arranged and placed on a wreath frame and finally, clamped into place.
The workshop concluded with a viewing of 20 unique and festive wreaths, complete with holiday tunes and special greetings from several of our farm friends. Guests departed with a wreath in one arm and protea bouquet in the other.
