10 Yellow Inspired Protea Designs
Hello Yellow… Pantone has spoken! The color of the year is always a fun headline to look forward to every January. According to Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, "The hue of yellow, called Illuminating (one of two colors selected for 2021), will help to fill people with energy, clarity and hope to conquer the continuing uncertainty, spirited and emboldening shades satisfy our quest for vitality. Illuminating is a bright and cheerful yellow sparkling with vivacity, a warming yellow shade imbued with solar power."
Yellow has historically been used to kindle joy and inspired positivity. Plus, nature is where color begins, after all... and no color is more a representative of nature than bright yellow. In the natural world, yellow is the color of sunflowers and daffodils, bananas and lemons, bees, numerous birds and many of our favorite Leucospermum and Leucadendron. In nearly every culture on earth, yellow represents sunshine, happiness, and warmth.
Looking through our collection of yellow floral creations, we have several examples where we have used yellow as the principal color in each design.
There is no doubt yellow sparks a broad spectrum of emotions in all of us. While it can be playful and radiant, it can also be unforgiving and ominous, which makes it a wildly fascinating hue. The many facets of the color yellow reveal its extremely impactful spirit.

Fall Trend Colors: Pantone’s Top 10 Wedding Colors
Autumn may bring a chill to the air, but this season’s color trends are all about warmth: displaying a palette that weaves earthy neutrals with a range of bold colors that reflect a landscape of hope, fun, fantasy and all things natural for the big day.
It’s FUN to review each season's top Pantone color trends and see what Proteas blend with the palettes. Our favorites this fall are Cashmere Rose and Marsala.
A play on the '60s with a twist of today, PANTONE 16-2215 Cashmere Rose is a tactile and soft pink hue that renders exactly what it promises. Cultivated in its richness, Cashmere Rose is a gentle and composed pink that is more upscale than downtown. - Pantone
And, to go along with this dynamic duel here are two lovely wedding blogs featuring these warm and earthy hues:

PANTONE 18-1438 Marsala
Interesting on its own and a wonderful contrast for other hues, PANTONE 18-1438 Marsala is a winey red-brown that adds finesse and savoir faire. Rich and robust, Marsala incorporates the warmth and richness of a tastefully fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots point to a sophisticated, natural earthiness. – Pantone

Fall 2014: A Season of Untypical Colors
“This is a season of untypical colors—more reflective of the imagination and ingenuity, which makes for an artful collection of colors and combinations not bound by the usual hues for fall,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “There is a feminine mystique that is reflected throughout the palette, inspired by the increasing need for women everywhere to create an individual imprint.”
Autumn is the perfect season for weddings, not only is the weather 'warm' and 'cozy' - this season the colors are as well! With such an amazing palette of artful colors and a 'feminine mystique' I was inspired to see how floral designers were blending Protea into some of these unusual fall hues. Here's just a few of my favorite finds:
Sangria - an exotic red that evokes a sense of glamorous adventures and faraway destinations.
Cypress - a majestic and powerful green.
